I discovered Lubith a while back and really didn’t like it.
Now, this is going to be a postive article but for you to understand how I got to this conclusion, I must explain. I first looked at Lubith with it’s GUI and thought, this is for amateur web masters who are not coders, those back-street shop owners who require a website, those mechanics and those small business owners who either don’t want to or can’t afford a professional website service.
Coming from a company that prides ourselves on a professional website service, I thought that this solution to create WordPress themes was a little cheap. I’m sure you can’t blame me for it!
I dismissed it.
Reform
It wasn’t until I had a client who required a website with a slightly tricky layout that I had the idea to jump back to Lubith and see if I could create something quickly. It worked.
I’m sorry Lubith, you win this one!
I was able to remove the elements I didn’t need and upload the logo to the place I needed it. I completed the theme in 10 minutes. The awkwardness of the layout meant I was destined to spend more than 2 hours working on the little layout kinks, so this 10 minute job was a welcome surprise.
Now, there is some things Lubith couldn’t handle, so I’ll have to code those myself, but it did at least 60% of the leg work for me in a relatively short time.
I’m not going to give it a star rating or anything like that, but I will say that I’ll be jumping back on the service again when I need to. It’ll be my ‘go-to’ guy.
