I was bored whilst watching a friend’s YouTube videos. This is what happened.
Wales Shark
Wales Shark is a humerous look at our national language (Welsh) presented by Adam Gilder, a friend of mine. I think they are great fun to watch as he talks about some of the stranger intricacies of our language. I don’t believe you really need to have knowledge of the language to enjoy it’s humor as it’s some of the most sarcastic, dry wit youtube videos around.
Though, I’m biased as I know Adam well.

The Presentation
I do have a little soft spot for these style images. Noise on the background to give the hint of a texture, beautiful typography and a key image. There’s lots of these floating around, and you’ll see plenty of them if your a member of Forrst or Dribbble, so I thought I’d have a go.
I obviously went for Lobster 1.3 with a splash of Helvetica Neue 25 for the typography. I love Lobster 1.3, it’s quite amazing… if a little overused.
The icon I traced over an existing vector image but made some key modifications to the shark’s shape and posture to give it the effect I was looking for. Then I added a hat that was traditionally seen in my country during the wars and the subsequent years where mining was our prime industry.
I think I need to sort out those gills though, the more I look at them, the worse they get…
